Doll Machine
techno cowgirl
“The first verse popped into my head and then I just started writing. i started taking the song too seriously and so the first chorus I came up with didn’t really work. So I walked away from the song for a few days and came back with a more playful approach, kinda started goofing off and wrote the techno cowgirl chorus.”
You’d expect hints of industrial in the musical blend that Doll Machine’s proposal is composed of, and perhaps in time that will come through but for the time being her latest single “Techno Cowgirl” serves as a perfect introductory piece to her electro/synth Pop vibe.
Doll has obvious roots in electronic and pop music, but she also cites influences from Jazz, Hip-Hop, and even Punk. No doubt this is a huge influence on the catchy-yet-avant-garde sound that she brings to the table.
In spite of only having three releases listed across streaming platforms, she’s collaborated before with house legend DJ Robbie Rivera and even French Electronic music trio Télépopmusik. Doll machine is currently working on a collab with Grammy-winning artist, Really Doe.
But what exactly is “Techno Cowgirl?” well, without spoiling the themes too much, the song is a pretty catchy and dynamic experience that seems tailored specifically for the dancefloor in mind, taking elements from techno music of course, from the deep rumbling beat to the inclusion of mildly distorted horns that almost hint at Electro swing revival, while many of the glassy backing synth elements are seemingly rooted in and 80s synth pop -these elements are one of the common thread uniting this track with the previous two releases by Doll Machine.
Doll’s vocal performance is exuberant and seductive, as it befits the song, but she also displays quite a a lot of potency that caught me a bit off-guard. She belts out some pretty sweet high notes during certain parts of the Chorus for great effect, giving the song a very robust and complex soundscape overall even beyond the understated complexities already present in the musical composition alone. - TOO MUCH LOVE MAGAZINE

New Release
Scarlett Gee
All The Things
Hailing from New South Wales, Australia, emerging artist Scarlett Gee has shared her first single of 2022, “All the Things”. It’s her second single to date, following “This World” last year.
A tender and moving piano ballad, “All the Things” lets Scarlett’s vocals take centre stage thanks to a simple yet beautiful piano melody.
"It’s a melancholy heartbreak song I guess? The end of a relationship because of personal turmoil rather than anyone doing something wrong and the pain of the person left behind”, Scarlett commented on the track.
A superstar in the making since she was just 5 years old, Scarlett started her path to fame by performing on radio and working as a model for print and TV adverts, although her great passion has always been singing and songwriting.
As well as being a talented young artist, Scarlett is a talented stage performer, notching up roles in numerous theatre productions such as Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Jesus Christ Superstar, Oliver, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, The Addams Family and most recently as a lead in Alice in Wonderland. And that’s not all – she’s currently rehearsing for the lead performance in Guys and Dolls this year. -NOTION MAGAZINE

Lucca DL
Agora Voltei
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic Lucca hadn’t been back to Brazil in over two years, and he sorely missed it. Up until recently he was able to travel back and it felt incredible to be back home. The song is titled “Agora Voltei”, meaning “now I’m back” and it’s mostly the feeling of returning to his old stomping grounds and feeling the progress of his journey since he last left. We're pleased to introduce our first single with Lucca DL to the universe.
